2 Understanding the problems at Northern Industries is best accomplished by taking into account the contingency viewpoint, which combines characteristics of the various other viewpoints such as traditional, behavioral and systems. At Northern, there are ways in which the system can be improved in order to solve the problem of product being shipped slower than desired, but there are behavioral problems between the various groups at the organization, specifically among the minority workers.
