rk that proved relevant to this course. In fact, most of the work I have done throughout my life, in every capacity I have been involved in, has been group work, involvement with other human beings in the planning and execution of common goals.
In the course of this work, I have come to recognize a number of personal qualities that have been helpful to my participation in groups, as well as a few traits that tend to get in my way. First, I enjoy working with others. This is a large reason for my choice of a career in a helping profession. I am engaged by interaction with other people and appreciate the chance to understand what makes them act the way they do and how to motivate them to achieve positive results. While I do not consider myself to be a ôdrama queenö (I do not seek out emotionally charged situations), I am also not afraid of conflict, and I understand the value of strong emotion in occasionally helping a group of people to get through difficult challenges.
