In other words, the laws that prevail upon individuals today protect the right to choose oneÆs own life, to contend with societyÆs echelons and stratifications in the manner that pleases oneÆs reason, instinct, or even oneÆs whimsy. ôGoodö choices, strong ambition and good luck can take one from the lowest ôcasteö to the highest.
