Antitrust Policy

rade Commission Act dealing with antitrust is concerned with unfair methods of competition, and declares as unlawful "unfair methods of competition in or affecting commerce, and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce (Moore, 1976, p. 101). This act is concerned primarily with the unfair trade practices of domestic companies. Additional legislation has been enacted to deal with the unfair competitive practices related to imported goods and services.

The Clayton Act deals with exclusive dealing or tying contracts or arrangements, the acquisition of stock or assets in corporations, and interlocking directorates of domestic corporations. Section 3 of the Clayton Act prohibits any person or enterprise engaged in commerce from effecting a lease, contract, or sale with specific conditions or agreements that the purchaser will not deal in the products of any competitor, where such conditions or agreements may either substantially lessen competition or tend to create a monopoly in any particular industry or lin
