Social changes are occurring in Hong Kong that are as important if not as dramatic as are the more widely publicized political changes that are related to the return of Hong Kong to Chinese political control. Hong Kong's position as a global financial and trading center brings the greater Hong Kong community into direct contact with social attitudes and behaviors from all parts of the world.
