Buddhism: A Personal Experience

o the Buddhist temple, words that I will relay phonetically, as I never did ascertain the correct spellings. It would turn out that many of the monks at the monastery actually spoke English very well.

The morning of my visit to the temple, I went over to my friend's house. In the kitchen, she and her mother had been preparing food that we were to take with us for the monks. My friend and her mother had prepared curried rice and vegetables, and a little bit of spiced meat. Buddhist monks live at the temple, and eat what is brought to them. They can subsist on very little, and yet indulge graciously when food is in abundance.
