It is in such a world Deckard lives, and he is unable to come to terms with his emotions or those of others. He is upset that his wife would rather feel depressed than simply dial up a number to make her happy. As Deckard discovers his supervisor has been seriously wounded by an escaped android, he is thrilled to help find the remaining six of a new breed of android û the Nexus-6. The Nexus-6 is fairly indistinguishable from human beings and only their inability to empathize keeps them from being human. Deckard is tired of having electronic animals, like the sheep he keeps on his roof. However, there are so few real species of animals left that owning a real one is very expensive. Deckard will use his bounty rewards to purchase a real animal.
