th a loutish, slob whose character qualities frustrate her to no end might be alright if she left. But she stays. As such, her criticism of Gary becomes shrill and we wonder why she stays. In turn, Gary views her criticism as nagging and believes she has lofty expectations no man can live up to because they are unrealistic. As he tells her, "I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand, because all you do is make moves from up in your ivory tower"
