Stereotypes of Native American Indians

tes, I doubt if this is the true story. More likely, the Indians were repeatedly duped because of their trusting innocence, defeated with little fight, and taken advantage of continually. The scenes that portray Indians inviting whites to partake of a peace pipe and certain Indian ceremonies seem more realistic to me, as I think of Indians as largely a peace-loving people that are not interested in attack unless they are threatened.
