My ambitions started early in life, growing up in the Middle East. I have been on my own since the age of 18, helping my family and taking care of my parents. I worked hard and built my own business, gaining a wife and five children through the years, but the economy in my town took a dramatic downturn and like many others, I lost everything. I am now 34 and working to rebuild my life. I work full time and started college in 2006, going to school full time in addition to caring for my family.
My goal is to attend the University of Missouri of Kansas City as a business/finance major and then continue my education by completing an MBA. Following graduation, I would like to work for a large corporation where I can bring my skills as an entrepreneur to bear on the company's businesses. My focus in this difficult economy will be to learn and implement "turnaround" skills that can help the company save its business, while at the same time learning much in the corporate environment that can help me become a success in my own business. Eventually I would like to bring this expertise to bear on other small business owners like myself who might lose their businesses without my assistance. By teaching people how they can turn their failing businesses around, I will not only be helping others but also relieving them of the necessity of depending upon the government for assistance. I believe this is a service that will benefit both those I help and taxpayers in general.
