ommunity within his organization (Neill & Saunders, 2008, p. 396). The servant leader in my organization inspires his people, equips them to do their best possible work, and then gives them all the glory, while deflecting any criticism from outside the organization to himself. His people love working for him and are extremely loyal to him, while those that work for the autocratic leader are secretly looking for a way out. 3. Northhouse (2009) states that transformational leadership "is concerned with the process of how leaders are able to inspire followers to accomplish great things" (p. 200). There are a number of behaviors that a leader must exhibit in order to meet this goal. They must be aware of their followers and of each follower's particular strengths, weaknesses, needs, and concerns, and they must be able to shape their leadership accordingly. They need to inspire confidence in themselves as well as in their people. Moreover, good leaders have to be able to set an example for their people, showing them how to keep their eyes on the vision and change as needed to support it (Northouse, 2009, p. 202). They must equip their followers to meet high standards, inspire trust, and create a workplace that is meaningful and supportive (Northouse, 2009, p. 202). A key way that transformational leaders inspire their people to accomplish great things is by demonstrating to them that they are capable of it. They stretch their people gradually, showing them each time that they are accomplishing more than they thought they could and allowing them to experience success that encourages them to go farther the next time.
