The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, its Territories and Canada is a union serving the motion picture, theatrical, and entertainment industry's skilled workers. This union not only secures fair wages and benefits, it also offers discounts on activities, ensures safe working conditions, opens up networking possibilities and job opportunities, educates its members about their rights as entertainment industry workers, and "enables members to have a direct voice in their working lives" (I.A.T.S.E.). It is run by democracy with the I.A. government consisting of a General Executive Board - which includes the International President, General Secretary-Treasurer, and thirteen Vice Presidents (I.A.T.S.E.). The laws of the organization are encompassed in an International Constitution, however each Local or branch of the I.A.T.S.E. is allowed to adopt their own constitution. Annual conventions are held in order to address the needs and issues of the various regions and Locals.

Originally serving only stagehands and projectionists , they "have been joined by a great variety of other craftspersons in the numerous branches of the entertainment industry, including motion picture and television production, product demonstration and industrial shows, conventions, facility maintenance, casinos, audio visual, and computer graphics" (I.A.T.S.E). With a membership of over 110,000 members, I.A.T.S.E.
