Use of Computers to Engage Students in Mathematics Learning

three years. Classrooms contain a computer station with three computers, a textbook station, and exploration stations for hands-on learning. A teacher station allows for individual work with students or work with small groups. Results were that significant differences in mathematics applications, computation, and actual application, and reading comprehension were found. Third-year students scored higher on all tests compared to the non-project groups; significant differences were demonstrated in mathematics applications for Grade 2, reading comprehension for Grade 5, mathematics computation for Grade 5, and mathematics application for Grade 5. This study did not relate findings to the computer-related assumptions of motivation, involvement, and feedback.
