This research examines the impact of poverty on the quality of life of young children. The research will look at professional literature on the subject. It will also show that poverty is the main roadblock to a good growing-up experience for children and a good experience for their parents.

It might seem like common sense to show a link between poverty and children who have personal and social problems, and then to be in favor of policies that would help to put an end to those problems. But policies for children in poverty do not get made just because research can prove that the children need help. That is because the policies have to be paid for out of taxes.
