Paul is imprisoned for exorcising a demon from a slave-girl who was a soothsayer. Infuriated by this occurrence, Paul and Silas are flogged and thrown into jail. Inside jail, Paul continues to pray and sing God's praises until a miraculous earthquake jars the jail liberating them. Several controversies revolving around such social issues as circumcision and tithing always seem ready to destroy the unity of the early Church. Nevertheless, Paul perseveres in his preaching. A church is founded at Corinth. He tells the Jews that they are deaf to Christ's teachings but that the gentiles shall listen.
