The abstract was necessarily concise and it did report the major findings of the research. In other words, the essential information was there. The write-up could have been improved if variables had been stipulated in more operational terms, if the wording had been tighter, and if the English had been more grammatically correct.

I. Foundation and introductory items.

The introductory section of the thesis contained four sections: (1) Introduction; (2) Justification; (3) Objectives; and (4) Limitations. It can be noted that the directions given in the critique stated that the early part of any research report should include the statement of the problem, objectives, and /or hypotheses, definitions required for understanding, and the literature review. In other words, the section did not contain a problem-statement section, a definitions section, or a separate literature review section. (However, it can be noted that the Literature review was presented in the second chapter of the section).

The research problem in most reports is suppose to be easily identified, easily understood nd adequately solved. Further, the problem is suppose to be stated in such a way that no bias is present and information is clearly tied to the topic. Also, the language in which the problem is worded should be neutral rather than emotionally laden. However, the thesis did not contain a problem statement. Therefore there is no way in which to critique the research problem with respect to the foregoing criteria.

However, in the section titled "Introduction", there was a paragraph in which the purpose of the study was stated. In this regard, purposes were presented in highly conceptual terms that made it difficult to easily understand.
