Citrus fruit agriculture and citrus fruit processing, are major worldwide industries. Citrus fruits are produced on all continents with the predictable exception of Antarctica.1 Oranges are the most produced citrus fruit, and oranges also account for the largest proportion of international trade in citrus fruit.2 Major facets of citrus fruit marketing and consumption are citrus fruit and citrus fruit juices. The citrus fruit market is segmented into fresh citrus fruit and canned citrus fruit. The citrus fruit juice market is segmented into fresh citrus fruit juice, canned citrus fruit, and frozen citrus fruit juice concentrate.
The focus of this study is on the investment potential of citrus fruit agriculture, citrus fruit processing, and citrus fruit marketing. The study focus, thus, is not so much concerned with the development of a solution to a problem as it is concerned with a description, analysis, and assessment of citrus fruit related industries that lead to an evaluation of the investment potential of these industries.
