presented in Table 2 indicate, approximately threefifths of the subjects were married, while almost onethird had never been married. When the sample is considered according to modern and traditional orientations, the total sample pattern generally characterizes the modern orientation group; however, fourfifths of the traditional orientation group were married (see Table 2).

Descriptive data relative to employment status for the full sample are presented in Table 3 (see Appendix). As the data presented indicate, almost threefifths of the total sample were not employed. When the sample is considered according to modern and traditional orientations, the total sample pattern generally characterizes both the modern orientation group and the traditional orientation group (see Table 3).

Descriptive data relative to occupation for the full sample are presented in Table 4 (see Appendix). As the data indicate, the student, manual labor, and housemother classifications accounted for 60 percent of the subjects. The distribution pattern varied, however, when the sample was considered according to modern and traditional orientations. The student and manual labor classifications accounted for threefifths of the modern oriented subjects, while the housemother and manual labor classifications accounted for more than twothirds of the traditionally oriented subjects (see Table 4).

Descriptive data relative to income levels for the full sample are presented in Table 5 (see Appendix). As the data indicate, more than threefifths of the total sample had incomes ranging from 500to1,000 Kd. While the same pattern generally is applicable to the modern orientation group, the traditional orientation group was characterized by lower incomes, with almost threequarters of the subjects having incomes less that 750 Kd (see Table 5).

Descriptive data relative to the education levels of the full sample are presented in Table 6 (see Appendix)...
