Personal development is often limited when that development is not aimed at community development. We see this phenomenon at the global macrocosm as well as on the personal microcosm levels. To this end I have devoted a large portion of my personal development toward community development. I am a member of Big Sisters which mentors incoming female students in order to help them make the transition to collegiate life. I was a member of the NIA Community Service Group, a group which sponsors community service events on campus to raise money for local charities and public empowerment organizations that support the Kenyon and neighboring communities.
