The post-training evaluation score mean for the sample group exposed to multimedia technology in relation to CAD training was 89.9, while the post-training evaluation scores for the sample group not exposed to multimedia technology in relation to CAD training was 84.1. This finding supported the acceptance of the research hypothesis.
The variations in post-training scores between the two sample groups (those exposed to multimedia during training and those who were not exposed to multimedia) were statistically significant at p<.05 (F-statistic = 20.632; critical value of F = 4.100). This finding supported the acceptance of the research hypothesis.
The research findings supported acceptance of the research hypothesis. Thus, as the research hypothesis could not be rejected, the hypothesis was, by inference, accepted. Acceptance of the research hypothesis provided a positive answer to the research question investigated. The application of multimedia technology can lead to improved effectiveness in the training of engineering design engineers in the use of CAD in customer re-design operations in pneumatic tools manufacturing.
Based on the findings of the research performed for this study, a conclusion was drawn that the incorporation of multimedia technology into the CAD components of training programs for engineering design specialists at pneumatic tool manufacturing firms will permit such personnel to develop peak levels of efficiency earlier than would be the case if multimedia technology were not incorporated into the CAD components of the training programs for these personnel. A second conclusion drawn from these findings was that customer satisfaction levels related to re-design requests would improve as a consequence of CAD training improved through the incorporation of multimedia technology.
