The research performed relied on secondary data. These data were collected through a thorough review of the relevant literature and available public records. Evaluations of the data were made within the contexts of human resource management, and public administration concepts.
The findings of the research performed for this study are presented in three major discussions. The general topical areas of these discussions are (1) the issues involved in the air traffic controllers strike, (2) governmental responses to the strike, and (3) the effects on air traffic safety of the air traffic controllers strike, governmental responses, and strike outcomes.
Air Traffic Controllers Strike Issues
Two of the seven research questions investigated in this study are directly related to the issues involved in the air traffic controllers strike. Research findings concerning these questions are presented in this discussion. These research questions are the following:
