Apart from identifying their differences, these studies also indicated that considerable variations also existed among individuals with Down's syndrome. In the latter half of the paper, the parents' impact on the development of their children with Down's syndrome was explored. The extent of the knowledge of the parents about Down's syndrome was demonstrated to be important in ensuring that the children receive the appropriate educational interventions. Moreover, the abilities of the parents to cope with the responsibility of raising children with Down's children were considered. The studies indicated that parents and families that were most equipped with the coping strategies and the resources were best able to handle the stressors associating with raising children with Down's syndrome. In conclusion, these studies showed that children with Down's syndrome and their families experience tremendous difficulties, which can be alleviated by the appropriate interventions.
