Attached to this report are listings of the telephone numbers and addresses for an extensive number of Newport Beach and Orange County public and government service agencies. Included are data for the police, city services, permits, emergency services, sheriff's department, legal services, and so forth.
Also attached are addresses and telephone numbers for local hotels and motels at which lodging and in some cases food for the crew members can be obtained. These data demonstrate that the target site is surrounded by a number of hospitality institutions. This constitutes a distinct advantage for the film crew.
Further, attached to this report are directions from Paramount Studios in Los Angeles to the restaurant. A drive of approximately 47 minutes in normal traffic conditions will bring the crew from the Studio to the restaurant. This suggests that local lodging may not be necessary.
Permits must be obtained from the permit department of Newport Beach. Representatives of Newport Beach can supply information related to any requirements for special parking, signage, and other special concerns which might impact upon the filming.
The primary limitation of the location is that it is located in a busy shopping center which has continual traffic from a 10 AM opening time through a 10 PM closing time for the mall's retail outlets. The restaurant, however, has a 2 AM closing time and has permission to remain open and in operation until that hour of the early morning. No additional permission is needed to film up until 2 AM or prior to the 10 AM opening.
