In addition student standardized test scores demonstrate needs for improvement in mathematics and science. Therefore teachers need to be offered workshops in technology and the use of multiple instructional techniques to include visual arts for mathematics and science learning. Critical issues include the application of technology and visual arts techniques to these subjects to increase student ability and academic performance and the application of technology to improve communication and assist with time constraints.
Since the teachers reported high agreement regarding most PLC characteristics, and PLC development is consistent with the schools goals, it is concluded that there is a great capacity for building the PLC. Thus the goals for this time period will include maintenance of existing positive conditions and improvement in problem areas of time, money, and communication. These goals are the topic of this School Improvement Plan. The new goals will include action plans for improving staff development and teacher communication, and improving teaching strategies, improving the learning community with increased student participation and outcomes, improving parent involvement, and improving evaluation of outcomes.
