s and caregivers are acknowledged learners. To meet that goal our school has implemented a strong balanced literacy program using the Readers and Writers Workshop model. This year we started the implementation of Every Day Math in K - 2 grade. Our school's Safety Committee meets on a regular
basis to ensure our students' and staff's safety. Our staff participates in in-house staff development in collaboration with
Teachers College. Parents are also involved in our learner-centered community. They participate in workshops that empower
them to become active participants in their child's education. GED, ESL, Computers, Arts and Crafts courses are also
offered. Our school also provides a Community After School Program for 400 of our students.
