During my internship, I worked with Ethentica's marketing department as well as their engineering group to define various types of communications which would be created. This was also accomplished in conjunction with Ethentica's primary contact at Apex, Pamela Dickerson. Because the technology in both of the product lines is innovative, and because Ethentica must explain to potential customers not only why they need the technology, but why they specifically need the technology developed by Ethentica, several white papers and a data sheet were determined to be the best ways to communicate this information. The industry is familiar with the white paper format (which resembles a research paper in its presentation) and is also comfortable with receiving technical information in that manner. The data sheet is a more traditional "marketing" document, and is designed to convey features and benefits rather than technical information about the products. The data sheet (one 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper printed on both sides in color) would cover the Web security product; two white papers would be created for the fingerprint module and one for the Web security product.
