Asia represents, as a whole, over half of the population for this planet. Asia has approximately seven (7) percent of the Internet population and will likely increase only by a few percent by 2003 (Ernst, 2001). An equally large challenge is adapting the economic infrastructure and institution of the other developing nations within Asia (aside from Japan) to the pace of change that is occurring as a result of the presence of the Internet. Add to this the complexity of the legal issues involved and the recipe only becomes more convoluted and uncertain.
