The article concludes by noting that the model consists of a change in support groups that addresses both social awareness needs of the group and personal change. This is an assumptive claim based on the just reviewed material indicating that SE, CR, and AT can be used for both psychological and social change objectives.

The use of Enns' model for its stated objectives appears to be well-documented. However, the article would be more impactful if she had shown that the social change elements of the model really are appropriate for all women of diverse political and social persuasions. As it stands, the group process advocated by Enns appears to be a good tool for those with her agenda but perhaps insufficiently comprehensive to appeal to a wide base of females, e.g. females who are pro-life, females who hold family values such as the man needing to be the "spiritual head" of the family and so forth.

This is an extremely tight and well-written article describing how a support group for families and partners of people with HIV/AIDS was established in the rural community of Keene, New Hampshire, population 22,430. The major problem with the article is that the authors' description of the social, spiritual, academic, and political life of the community is backed up with absolutely no documentation.

For example, the reader is told that Keene is politically conservative; it should have been a relatively easy step to back this claim up with documentation of its voting record, etc; however, this was not done....
