Though much of President Bush's agenda requires the American people to take the long view, some very tangible results of his policies have already been seen around the world. As reported by Helle Dale and The Heritage Foundation, the example of Iraq, though admittedly one that continues to require careful attention, has nonetheless deterred other would-be nuclear states such as Libya: "After nine months of negotiations," writes Dale, "Libyan dictator Muammar Quadhaffi gave up his [uranium enrichment] program, having watched Saddam Hussein crawl out of his hole in Iraq and surrender into American hands" (2).
