Qu.1 The Hamitic Hypothesis stated that anything of value found in Africa was brought n by the Hamites who were allegedly a branch of the Caucasian race (Gillian, 2002). It implied that civilization was taken down the Nile from the Fertile Delta by whites or near- whites of Caucasian family, and that the whitening of the Hamites was achieve by manipulating the sacred unalterable religious doctrine by placing the so-called curse on Canaan and not Ham. This doctrine was an attempt to rationalize the subjugation of the black people.

Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop (1923-1986) was the worldÆs foremost Egyptologist and his work was of crucial importance in

establishing that Ancient Egypt was and African civilization (Bishidi, 2000). He looked at the melanin content of the epidermis of mummies, looked at anatomy and physical anthropology of the people, compared blood types, and languages, and many more studies comparing Egyptian and African cultures.

Goree Island is a small island off Senegal which was used as a center for the expanding European slave trade between the mid-1500s and the mid-1800s. It was a slave-holding warehouse during the diaspora. Slaves were brought there, sold, and held until they could be shipped to South America, the Caribbean or North America.
