The team effectiveness model holds that various factors influence the overall effectiveness of teams. These factors include the organizational and team environment, team design and team processes. Environmental factors can range from the physical space in which the team operates to the reward systems in place for team members and the organizational leadership available. Team design includes the size of the team and its composition. Team processes include team norms, roles, development and cohesiveness. Team effectiveness not only measures whether the team achieves its organizational goals, but also whether it meets the needs of its members and maintains its own survival.
