1. To identify the geopolitical and administrative boundaries and structures of Venezuela.

2. To identify the principal national figures and heroes.

3. To identify and explain the causes, courses, and outcomes of the major national events.

4. To explain the importance of the nation's cultural and historical Spanish, Indian, and Catholic background.

5. To trace the historical events which led to the independence of Venezuela.

6. To critique constructively the political, economic, religious, and social life of Venezuela.

1. To demonstrate one's affective bond with the nation.

2. To demonstrate one's affective bond with the national figures and heroes.

3. To demonstrate the desire to further one's knowledge of and participation in the life of the nation.
