criteria to predict college grade point average of students graduating from programs in athletic training and other health disciplines. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores and high school grade point average were used to predict college outcomes. Files of graduates for the 1992 to 1997 years were used to obtain data. Subjects were 373 graduates (129 men and 244 women) from six programs. Data were from high school and college transcripts, and SAT scores.

Platt, et al. (2001) reported findings showed SAT Verbal scores and high school grade point averages predicted 14% of the variance in student success and high school grade point average predicted success in athletic training. These findings were considered important since educational reform is an important issue facing regular students and the profession of athletic training.
