The authors reported that causes of youth behavioral problems begin at an early age and may be a result of parental influence. Since the ECSEL program includes parental training that addresses conflict resolution and other correlates of antisocial behavior which are related to youth violence, it is concluded that findings related to ECSEL participation are related to these causes.
